CC Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Olympic
Centralia College went 1-1 on Thursday, splitting a doubleheader against Olympic College at Bob Peters Field.
The Trailblazers rallied in the ninth to take Game 1 4-3, as Kaleb Campbell took a ball in a full count with the bases loaded for the walk-off walk.
It came after Sam Matosich drew a four-pitch walk of his own to tie the game at three.
CC's other pair of runs came in the fourth, when Jack Skelley grounded into an RBI fielder's choice and Owen Zerr hit an RBI single.
Liam Karlson nearly went the distance on the mound, striking out 13 hitters and allowing just three hits while walking four and giving up three earned runs in eight and two-thirds.
Jacob Vance came on in relief and retired the only hitter he saw, and he earned the victory.
Olympic built another early lead in Game 2, and they tacked on six more in the final three, including four insurance runs in the ninth, to win 9-2.
CC's two runs came on an Owen Dirks RBI single in the seventh and a Skelley double in the eighth.
CC (15-15, 3-3 NWAC) will head to Bremerton to face Olympic in another doubleheader on Saturday.
