Trailblazers sweep Oregon trip to end four-game skid

The Centralia College men's basketball team got back in the win column during a road trip to Oregon with wins over Linn-Benton Tuesday and Chemeketa Wednesday.
A four-game losing streak is over for the Trailblazers, who beat Linn-Benton 77-74 and Chemeketa 78-67.
Against Linn-Benton, Centralia College struggled to shoot from 3-point range but held a narrow 37-34 lead at halftime. The Trailblazers built a 63-47 lead midway through the second half before the Roadrunners scored 10 unanswered to draw within six. Linn-Benton nearly completed a comeback with a late 15-4 run, but the closest it got was within three points as the Roadrunners hit a shot at the buzzer.
Luke Brewer led all scorers with 23 points — his second 20-point game of the season. Clay Morgan added 15 points and three blocks, and Shay Brannon provided 11 points.
On Wednesday, the Trailblazers mustered only 28 points in the first half before exploding in the second half for 50 points. Maximus Holliman scored a career-high 26 points off the bench on an efficient 10 of 13 shooting. Brannon (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Morgan (12 points, 11 rebounds) logged double-doubles in the victory.
Centralia College (9-4) is off for the rest of 2025 and will return to the court for a home game against Edmonds on Jan. 3.
