The Centralia College softball team earned a split in Longview on Friday, splitting two ends of a doubleheader against Lower Columbia College.

The Trailblazers won Game 1 4-2 before the Red Devils took the nightcap 10-2 in six innings.

In Game 1, Centralia alum Makayla Chavez hit a solo home run to put CC on top, and Ava Hernandez hit a two-run double in the fifth to push the lead to 3-0. She finished the day with two doubles and her two RBIs.

Macey Fluetsch tacked on another run with an RBI single, and Hernandez was able to shut the door on LCC in the final two frames.

Hernandez pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and two runs while walking one and striking out one.

She added another double as part of a two-hit game in Game 2, and she also drove in a run.

Lena Fragner and Chavez also added a hit apiece.

Adna alum Kendall Humphrey hit a three-run home run for LCC, and fellow Adna grad Danika Hallom hit a double and drove in three runs as part of a two-hit day.

CC wraps up its regular season at 22-20 and sits at No. 11 in the NWAC RPI rankings at the end of play on May 8.

If the Trailblazers qualify for the 12-team NWAC Tournament, the Trailblazers will begin play on Thursday at Delta Park in Portland.
