Mikaele’s early goal lifts CC over Green River

A fourth-minute goal from Maylania Mikaele went on to stand as the game-winning goal for Centralia College on Wednesday afternoon, when the Trailblazers defeated Green River 1-0 in their first NWAC match of the season.

Mikaele scored an unassisted goal in the fourth minute, and though the Trailblazers put 13 more shots on net throughout the remainder of the game, they were never able to add on.

They didn't need to, though. Defensively, CC gave up just seven shots, and the five that were on net were all saved by Brooklynn Alkire.

The Trailblazers (2-0, 1-0 NWAC) will be back on the turf at Bob Peters Field on Saturday afternoon to take on Lower Columbia College in a non-conference matchup.
