Women’s soccer claws back, draws against LCC

By The Chronicle staff

For the second time this season, the Centralia College women's soccer team played to a draw against Lower Columbia College.

The Trailblazers needed a comeback to earn a draw on Saturday in Longview, as they scored a pair of second-half goals to force the 2-2 tie.

Maylania Mikaele got CC on the board in the 61st minute of the game, and in the 88th minute, Eva Figueroa tied the game. It was the first time that the game had been tied since the 19th minute, when LCC scored its first goal, and the Red Devils added on just before halftime to go up 2-0.

Both Mikaele and Figueroa's goals were unassisted.

The draw keeps CC (5-2-3, 4-2-3 NWAC) in third place in the NWAC West standings, one points ahead of Clark and three ahead of LCC.
