Volleyball takes down Highline in four

The Centralia College volleyball team earned another conference win on Wednesday, taking down Highline 25-20, 25-21, 14-25, 25-22.

Avery Starr had 36 assists, 10 digs, and a pair of aces, while Paige Miller collected 16 kills and two blocks.

Meleseini Hutchings was all over the floor, posting 14 kills and 11 digs, while Ava Shiftlett added 16 digs and an ace. Cadence Gumanas logged 11 digs and an ace of her own, and Jada Whitmore finished with eight kills and four blocks.

"We made some changes tonight that worked in our favor," Centralia College coach Ceanna Michalek said. "These girls showed grit and were relentless on defense. I'm very proud of our continued growth this season, and the leadership of our sophomores."

CC (14-7, 3-1 NWAC) will head north on Friday to take on South Puget Sound.
