The Centralia College volleyball team picked up its fifth win in a row on Wednesday night, sweeping Green River 25-14, 25-11, 26-24.

"The girls did a great job of pushing Green River out of system and creating gaps for us to be aggressive offensively," CC coach Ceanna Michalek said. "The leadership of our sophomores allowed us to show the depth in our program and created an opportunity for our freshmen to take some risks tonight."

Avery Starr had another outstanding night running the offense, totaling 27 assists, five digs, two blocks, an ace, and five kills with a kill efficiency rate of .625.

Jada Whitmore led the team in kills with 14 on a kill efficiency rate of .542, and she also added six blocks at the net.

Paige Miller tallied eight kills, Nini Hutchings logged nine digs, five kills, and three blocks, and Cadence Gumanas "kept us in system" with 14 digs, three aces, and a serve efficiency rate of 2.10.

The Trailblazers (17-7, 6-1 NWAC) remain tied with Highline atop the NWAC West standings, and they will head to Longview to face Lower Columbia College on Friday.
