CC baseball snaps losing streak with sweep of Grays Harbor
The Centralia College baseball team snapped an 11-game losing streak on Thursday in Hoquiam, sweeping Grays Harbor 14-1 and 8-3 in an NWAC doubleheader.
CC scored six runs across the first four innings of Game 1, added six in the fifth, and added a pair in the sixth while allowing just one run in the third.
Mitchell Rowe hit a home run and two triples while driving in six runs and scoring twice. Jace Bykari and Maverick Harper both drove in two runs as part of two-hit nights, and Jack Skelley also drove in two.
Owen Dirks added three hits and scored three times, and Kaleb Campbell added two hits and scored a run.
Liam Karlson pitched five and a third, allowing just one hit and one run while walking three and striking out nine, while Gavin Liechty threw an inning and two-thirds of scoreless relief.
A surge in the middle innings helped CC jump in front in Game 2, as the Trailblazers scored seven runs across the fourth, fifth, and sixth to build a lead after a scoreless first three frames.
Nolan Christ drove in two runs, while Rowe, Bykari, Conall Chick, Carter Harrison, and Maverick Harper also added one RBI each.
Asher Guerrero allowed just four hits and three runs (two earned) while walking three and striking out five across seven and a third, while Casey Julkowski faced one over the minimum in an inning and two-thirds out of the bullpen.
CC (17-25, 5-13 NWAC) will host Grays Harbor in Games 3 and 4 in another conference doubleheader on Saturday.
