Three Blazers Named in NWAC Baseball All-Region Awards
2026 NWAC Baseball All-Region Awards Revealed
The 2026 NWAC Baseball All-Region awards have been announced, with award winners for each of the four regions. Each region consists of a Pitcher of the Year, Position Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year along with First and Second Team honorees and Gold Glove award winners. New to this year are 2-Way Player awards, Freshman of the Year, and Big Stick Award.
Pitcher and Player of the Year winners will be up for the Baden Player of the Year, which will be announced with the All-NWAC Baseball team.
In the North Region, Everett's first year head coach Eli Konsker splits the Coach of the Year award honors with Edmonds' Brooks Roy as the two teams tied for first in the region with matching 25-5 records. Everett took home many of the top awards for the region as Basil Henrix won the Pitcher of the Year and Davis Downer won Position Player of the Year. Hendrix was one of the top starters in the NWAC this season with a 9-0 record in 13 starts, posting a 1.90 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 71 innings pitched. Downer was a key cog in the Everett lineup with a .332 vatting average, six home runs and 50 runs batted. He ranks third in the NWAC in home runs and second in RBI heading to the postseason.
Defending NWAC champions Linn-Benton once again took the South Region title with a 27-9 record. Head coach Andy Peterson was named the region's Coach of the Year as he and the Beaks vie for their third-straight championship. Umpqua's Beau Ramsey earned the South Region Pitcher of the Year award after he went 9-1 in 11 starts with a low 1.31 ERA. Ramsey allowed just 10 earned runs in 68.2 innings in the regular season. Lane's Quinton Olson was named Position Player of the year after he led the NWAC during the regular season with 69 hits, to go along with a .354 batting average. Olson has two home runs, 33 RBI and 42 runs scored this season.
Spokane claimed the East Region title on the last weekend, as head coach Ryne Webb earned East Region Coach of the Year while Josh Grimes was named Assistant Coach of the Year for the region. Yakima Valley's Tannon Marsalis was selected East Pitcher of the Year as he leads the NWAC with 95 strikeouts and ranks second with 83.2 innings pitched. Marsalis has gone 7-2 with a 1.40 ERA and five complete games. Columbia Basin's Diego Escandon earned Position Player of the Year as he hit six home runs with 33 RBI, 43 runs scored and a .296 batting average. He also went 26-for-26 on stolen base attempts and earned the Gold Glove MVP for the region for his work in the outfield.
In the West, region champions Lower Columbia dominated the postseason awards as head coach Kurt Lupinski was selected Coach of the Year after leading the Red Devils to a 22-2 region record. The Red Devils' Quinn Hubbs was named Pitcher of the Year for the West after a dominant campaign in which he finished 9-1 with a 0.70 ERA, the lowest among qualified pitchers in the NWAC. He struck out 61 batters in 64.1 innings. LCC's Karsten Hansen earned Position Player of the Year after leading the NWAC among qualified hitters with a .395 batting average, recording 47 total hits, 32 runs scored, a home run and 29 RBI.
